Lundi 19 juin, l’association millavoise Millau en Jazz a révélé le programme des festivités qui auront lieu du 16 au 22 juillet. Cette année 18 artistes et groupes seront présents.
Pour sa 32e édition, le Millau Jazz Festival débutera avec l’artiste Nora Kamm, dans des concerts décentralisés à Aguessac le 16 juillet, et à Combret-Sur-Rance le 17 juillet. Ces événements permettent aux habitants proches de Millau d’en profiter sans avoir à se déplacer dans la ville.
Pour la suite du festival, Millau en Jazz investira une nouvelle fois les jardins du Château de Sambucy. Le groupe Des Lions pour des Lions ouvrira le bal mardi 18 juillet à 19h30 (COMPLET). Le concert sera suivi à 21h30 du groupe London Afrobeat Collective composé de 8 musiciens. Leur mission sera de faire danser la foule pour cette première soirée, qui plus est gratuite (COMPLET).
Mercredi 19 juillet, les portes du swing s’ouvriront au jeune public à 13h30, avec une initiation pour les jeunes des centres de loisirs et du centre social. Cet apprentissage sera disponible aux plus âgés à partir de 18h, toujours dans les jardins du château. Dans le même temps aura lieu le concert de Naïma Quartet. Son œuvre oscille entre tradition et modernité, gaîté ostensible et intimité, mais aussi entre optimisme et questionnement. La soirée se clôturera avec le film « Queen of Soul », le biopic sur Aretha Franklin.
La soirée du jeudi sera ensuite une des plus grosses du festival. Elle débutera avec Naïma Quartet à 18h sur la place de la Capelle, et se poursuivra au château de Sambucy, avec le groupe français Chocho Cannelle à 19h et Ishkero à 21h. Pour boucler cette soirée, le bijou de la soul Sandra Nkaké fera résonner sa voix à 22h30 dans les jardins du château.
Vendredi 21 juillet, les jeunes s’emparent de la scène jazz, et devraient aussi prendre place dans le public. Dès 18h, place Foch avec le groupe Joshua Perez Trio. Puis à 19h, Dead Robot explorera à la fois l’acoustique emblématique du trio de jazz, et les sonorités électriques et électroniques actuelles. Enfin, l’influence électronique sera menée à son paroxysme avec le groupe Gogo Penguin à 22h30, qui devrait rappeler les clubs à plus d’un.
Pour clôturer le festival, samedi 22 juillet, The Gombo Revolution déambulera dans Millau à 18h. Ensuite, rendez-vous au public dans les jardins de Sambucy, pour assister aux concerts de Grégory Daltin et Kiko Ruiz à 19h, Arnaud Dolmen Quartet à 21h. Et pour terminer le Millau Jazz Festival, le groupe cubain El Comite investira la scène.
Pour assister aux concerts, pensez à vous inscrire à l’avance. Labélisé Elemen’Terre, le festival prévoit une charte écologique responsable, et mettra à disposition les équipements adaptés à celle-ci.
